This year’s anniversary trip started off not so great because of all the tropical storms threatening the coast. I always book our trips months in advance and I was worried that we would have to cancel. Then, what if they didn’t give us our money back. Or what if when we got there, it would rain the entire time. I was worried all the way there. Driving through the rain didn’t help either. But when we got there it was really nice, rain and all.
During our stay at the quiet and scenic resort, we were surrounded by an older crowd which added to the peaceful ambiance of the off-season setting. The food at the resort was surprisingly delightful, with the mudslide drink standing out as a personal favorite. However, we also ventured off the resort to explore the local dining scene. Our culinary adventures led us to Mosaic Cafe & Catering, where we indulged in a variety of dishes, as well as Tattooed Moose, a restaurant featured on the popular show Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives. The experience of dining at these establishments added an extra layer of enjoyment to our trip.
Apart from indulging in delicious meals, our days were spent strolling along the beach, soaking in the serene atmosphere and enjoying the natural beauty surrounding us. The combination of good food, tranquil surroundings, and the company of loved ones made our vacation truly memorable. We found ourselves content with the simple pleasures of eating well and taking leisurely walks by the shore, appreciating the slower pace of life during the off-season.
As we reflect on our time at the resort, the memories of savoring delectable dishes and exploring new culinary experiences stand out as highlights of our trip. The blend of relaxation, good food, and scenic views created a harmonious retreat that left us feeling rejuvenated and grateful for the opportunity to immerse ourselves in such a delightful vacation experience. The tranquility of the off-season, coupled with the culinary delights we discovered, made this trip a truly unforgettable getaway.
