I’ve been natural since about 2003 and I’ve tried almost every style imaginable. These are the most recent styles that I’ve had. I had worn my hair straight for about a year and a half and the style was cute but my scalp wasn’t feeling it. I had dry scalp (which I had never experienced before pressing my hair) and my hair started to shed. So in November of 2014 I stopped getting my hair flat ironed.
Transitioning back to my natural curl pattern (which is kinky coily/ 4c) took 9 long months. Oh, how I missed my hair! It feels so good to be back to normal. Now I’m focusing on growing longer hair and I’m taking Manetabolism and Hair, Skin, Nail vitamins.
Being natural is so fun but its a lot of work. I do most of my hair styles myself including the hair treatments. I use mostly essential oils, Shea butter, and homemade flax-seed gel but I also experiment with other products as well. I just love my nappy hair lol 😉
